İnci Holding Supports ‘Earth Hour’ for a Sustainable Earth

2 Temmuz 2017

İnci Holding and group company İnci Akü supported the Earth Hour movement seeking methods of change for the healthy future of Earth and raising awareness of climate change.

As part of Earth Hour, all lights (except for those essential for security reasons) in İnci Holding Headquarters and İnci Akü production facilities were switched off between 8.30 pm– 9.30 pm on Saturday, 31 March 2012, at the same time with the rest of the world. Initiated in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, by thousands of people who switched off their lights at 8.30 pm for one hour on the last Saturday of March to raise awareness of climate change, Earth Hour has rapidly turned into a global campaign. This year İnci Holding along with group company İnci Akü supported Earth Hour which had been held in Turkey since 2009. Developing corporate strategies as well as organisational skills in life matters concerning the future of the planet, İnci Holding and İnci Akü switched off their lights for one hour as part of the campaign led by WFF. In 2011, the movement attracted significant participation; in addition to Bosphorus Bridge, 267 companies, 12 county councils, over 20 city councils and thousands of people.

Earth Hour aims to remind individuals and companies of their responsibilities for the future of this planet and encourage them to take decisions to tackle climate change. Thousands of landmarks including the Sydney Opera House in Australia, the Bird Cage Stadium in China, the Giza Pyramids in Egypt, the Eiffel Tower in France, the Empire State Building in the USA and Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul have all participated so far.
