The Synergy Meeting was opened with a welcome speech by President of İnci Holding Meral İnci Zaim, who said, ‘This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of our holding, whose roots date go much further back. As the members of the family, we believe in open mindedness and dedication, and we place great importance on corporate governance studies. Family companies rarely survive so long, never mind successfully hand over to the third generation. An overview of family companies around the globe reveals that only one in ten succeeds. When we transfer our İnci Holding family companies to the third generation, we will be one of the few companies that manage to do it in the world. We believe in power of unity, team work, common sense and win-win principles. Our shareholders and environment are very important for us. Therefore, in order to attain sustainable success, we believe in creating value and making sure our stakeholders win first; our success follows later.’

Zaim continued, ‘As the İnci Group, we believe that we need to increase the competencies and management skills of human resources in order to reach our goals. Thanks to Turkey’s economic performance today, it is not difficult to find investors and funding to carry Turkey to its vision for 2023. Now, Turkey has an appealing potential for investors from all around the world. In order to open the way to strategic foreign investments in our country, we must produce projects that will create true value, comply with international standards, and improve our national skills in managing the projects produced. For a globally competitive Turkey in terms of size of economy, we believe in the importance of raising of leaders and teams that are capable of creating and realising the projects that suit the country’s potential. Skilled young human resources open to learning and change is Turkey’s most valuable resource. We believe that, appropriate training and development programmes will help this real resource to help Turkey realise its vision for 2023 and even beyond.’

Investment in the most important power; human resources

İnci Holding has also made a joint study with the Sabancı University Management Training Centre. Having launched the İnci Sales Academy, which aims to develop both theoretical and practical knowledge of the employees in sales and marketing, İnci Holding’s goal is to ensure that in the future, both İnci Holding Group employees and main- and retail dealers benefit from the trainings offered here. The goal is to ensure that employees who complete the academy crown their careers with an important building block and become agents of positive change in the group. One of the most important reasons for establishing the İnci Sales Academy, which is launched by İnci Holding and İncitaş, is to create an opportunity for dealers for improvement in sales and marketing.

Having started a new study for the development of its employees in 2012, İnci Holding has launched its Development Centre project, which intends to identify and assess, helped by expert consultants, innovations that will carry the company to the future. Steps to support the development of employees that will shape the company’s future on their path to leadership have also been planned.
